Home > The Study > Latest Research > White Paper III Summary White Paper III- Teens do stay informed, study shows Teens are plugged into the news, according to the largest survey ever conducted of them, a $1 million, two-year project to canvas 112,000 high school students by University of Connecticut researchers David Yalof and Kenneth Dautrich. The survey, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, made headlines earlier this year when it revealed that 75 percent of the kids either didn't know about or care about the First Amendment. That was the sad news. But there also was some good news: a telling statistic about youth news consumption. A total of 57 percent of the teens said that they consume news from at least one source every day. More than three-quarters -- 76 percent -- said that they consume news from several sources every week. Link to Teens are Plugged into News
